Bruins,
We’ve received a few inquiries in regards to our planned COVID mitigation efforts for the spring season, so we wanted to take a minute to address them as best as we can at the moment.
Please note that the most recent COVID guidelines from Anne Arundel County Rec & Parks are dated 9/2/2020. If these Return to Play Guidelines are updated at any point, the BBSC Board of Directors will meet to address those changes.
Using our fall on-field mitigation efforts as our model, BBSC plans to continue enforcing the below guidelines, including but not limited to:
- No shared equipment
- 2 spectators per player
- Sidelines social distancing (no pop-up tents)
- Distanced huddles and modified post-game “handshakes” (hat wave)
- Mask wear (when not on the field/dugout)
- Player attendance records
- Temperature checks should be done before going to games/practice for players, volunteers and coaches.
- All are encouraged to bring hand sanitizer and use it frequently throughout games and practices.
Per County guidance, participation in Recreation & Parks programs is only allowed if you have had no signs or symptoms of COVID-19, and you have not been exposed to someone who has had signs or symptoms of COVID-19 for a minimum period of 14 days before participation. If you have had a positive test for COVID-19, you must be cleared from isolation by the Health Department to resume participation.
If a player tests positive for COVID-19, we ask that they please notify their coach, division commissioner, or any BBSC Board Member immediately. The player’s identity will remain anonymous, however the Board of Directors will determine whether a suspension of team, division or league activities is required or appropriate.

Finally, just another reminder that March 7th is the FINAL DAY to register for the spring season! Please visit the BBSC website for more information. We're looking forward to getting back out on the diamonds!
Team First,
Chad Runge
